11 Mar What happened after the rescues?
Our greatest desire is that the boys and girls we rescue are able to go back to their family homes and restart their education. However reintegration can only take place after rigorous assessment and co-ordination with the appropriate authorities.
With this in mind, we are very pleased to share with you the news that out of the 11 boys we have rescued this year, five have already been reintegrated. All families had been genuinely unaware of the situations their sons had been working in, and have now committed to sending them back to school. We are in touch with their local schools, so we will be following up and monitoring their progress.
The remaining six boys are still in our transit home while we continue to care for them and trace their families.
