Spring Reception 2018

Presentation being given for CRN

Spring Reception 2018

After a sunny bank holiday weekend, Child Rescue Nepal hosted our Spring Reception on 8 May to meet with supporters and update them on CRN’s work, as well as on an exciting new partnership with Shakti-Samuha. With Shakti-Samuha’s help, we will be opening Marigold House, a centre specifically for young women and girls who have been rescued from slavery and sex trafficking.

The event was held at the beautiful Mary Ward House in Bloomsbury, and turnout was fantastic.

Highlights of the evening’s programme included an interview with one of our 2018 London Marathon runners, Louise Bailey, as well a chat with author Olivia Rana who came from Belfast especially to speak about her book, ‘Elastic Girl’. The response to the book was so positive that we sold out of copies in a matter of minutes! Luckily, Olivia’s book is still available to order here.

We were also joined by Everest climber Rory McHugh and photographer Steve Brown, who have collaborated on a beautiful book combining stunning imagery and Rory’s journals of the climb which were previously serialised in The Irish Times. If you would like to purchase a copy of ‘Everest Diaries’, both the hard- and soft-cover editions are available to buy online at Spiderwize.

Many thanks again to all of our supporters and friends who were able to join us on the night!
