Asma’s Inspiring Journey

From the brick kilns of Nepal to the London Marathon, Asma’s story embodies resilience and hope.

Orphaned at just 10 years old and forced to flee difficult home circumstances at 11, Asma found herself working in a brick kiln factory. Later, she moved to a guesthouse where she earned merely £33 monthly for cleaning, sweeping, and making tea.

Despite exhausting 12-hour workdays, Asma’s determination to learn never wavered. She secretly taught herself to read and write using the owners’ children’s books after completing her chores.

In 2019, at age 16, Child Rescue Nepal changed Asma’s life forever. After her rescue, she finally received the opportunity to attend school and pursue her dreams.

Now 22, Asma has discovered a remarkable talent for trail marathon running and has become an inspiring leader in our youth programme. This month, she travels to the UK to run the London Marathon, raising funds and awareness for Child Rescue Nepal.

By supporting Asma, you help us empower more children to escape exploitation and build brighter futures.
